5.25.25 [Aim XR, Hello World, Greyscale, etc.]

📟 here.

Today I played an FPS, on my Quest 3. It was called Aim XR. I liked it a lot. I think it’s the first VR game I’ve played that I didn’t want to immediately leave. It was a bit hard to get used to the mechanics and I maybe got like seven (7) kills total across like five games. But I found it thrilling. Very direct and singular. Unlike most VR games (and video games in general*), I actually want to play this one more and become a real operator and a motherfucker. I had a few kills that were cold-blooded as it gets. Those felt good. I stopped playing FPS-type games around when the Xbox 360 came out; at that point they were too complex and cumbersome. I’d lost my Counter-Strike account after being immediately banned after using an auto-aim bot.

So, this is my blog. I have some others, but those are mostly gibberish/malware/remote access tools/etc. Not sure what happened there, but I suppose that is what I get for making a LiveJournal in 2025.**

I’ve been using greyscale a lot lately. Right now I’m in color-mode and I hate it, but alas; I am writing a blog entry, and it is the first, and I need to like, figure out what the deal is with WordPress and everything.

I’m very inspired tonight as far as programming goes. Lots of ideas and little flourishes of the panoramic view of it all. I really should just stick to one project at a time, but I suppose that just isn’t how my brain works. I want to build Haichan, Velouria and Scrbblr. All three of these would be interlinked.

Just bought some booqz:

Marvel Universe: Origin Stories by Bruce Wagner***
Into the Dark: The Hidden World of Film Noir, 1941-1950 by Mark A. Viera
The Box Man by Imiri Sakabarisha
Sabrina by Nick Dsrnaso
Cormack McCarthy’s The Road – a Graphic Novel Adaptation by Manu Larcenet

These were largely picked by Chat-GPT based on extensive memory/context. So far I’ve found that AI is quite good at recc’s, once you’ve made it clear you’re a hardcore reader or whatever – you’ve read Hitchhiker’s Guide, House of Leaves, Fear and Loathing, etc. I’ve read about a book a week since I can remember reading. Part of this blog’s impetus for creation was to catalog my reading in a new way – I’m just not a fan of Goodreads and don’t see any real competition besides, idk, Badreads. That would be a fun blog.

* Look, I am simply just not a gamer. I don’t know what the gaming world is like. I do like Grand Theft Auto, though I am torn WRT: the new game, and I have no clue if it will be VR-friendly or what. The trailer looked interesting; often stunning, sometimes bland or strange. I feel like unless there’s a really solid online racing game in there I’d check it out; racing in GTAV Online was probably the most I’ve ever played as far as video games go.

** None of my sites contain malware or any kind of malicious code or scripts. That I’m aware of.

*** This book has nothing to do with the actual MCU and is not a superhero thing in any way. Look it up. I’m pretty sure Wagner put it up for free, at least initially. Currently reading Dead Stars and very much enjoying it.
